FAQ's

Q: What is the process for booking you as our wedding florist?

A: After making an initial enquiry through the website or via email, we will come back to you with a welcome email which includes a calendly invite to book in for a chat about your wedding flowers.

Following this discussion, I will create a mood board and indicative quote for you. At this stage a deposit is due and a further discussion about the details of your floral wedding plan. Once the deposit is paid and contract signed, you have secured us for your wedding and you can get excited about the floral wonderland that we will create for you.

About 8 weeks before your wedding, we will be in touch again to go through all the details and make sure our plans are perfect. Full payment is due 6 weeks before your wedding. We will be in touch the week of your wedding to double check logistics for delivery of wedding party flowers but otherwise sit back and look forward to seeing your floral dreams realised as you glide through your wedding day.

Q: Are you available for our date?

A: When you enquire the first information we need is; wedding date, wedding venue, rough number of guests and an indication of your budget. We use this information to check our calendar and it gives us a rough indication of the size of wedding you are planning and therefore us a rough idea of planning and time requirements so that we can check against other bookings. We take a fixed number of weddings per year to ensure that we can provide all the support our couples need and so that we can produce our best work for you.

The months of April through to September are the traditional wedding season and if you are getting married on a Saturday on any of these months, I would suggest trying to secure your preferred suppliers as soon as possible – 12-18 months out. That said, it is always worth the ask about availability as you never know if somebody has had to move their wedding or cancel. I still have limited availability for Autumn 2023 and Summer 2024 so get in touch if you are planning now.

Q: What information do I need before I enquire?

To check our availability and get the ball rolling we will need; your wedding date, wedding venue, rough number of guests and an indication of your budget. It would also help us to know any other decisions that you have already made around your wedding. This is all the information you need for an enquiry. We can chat about the rest.

Q: How much should I budget for wedding flowers?

A: We will always ask for a rough idea of your budget from the beginning so that we can make suggestions that work around the amount. Our minimum price for wedding flowers is £1000 and an average price is around £2500. If you are wanting to include an installation then the budget would need to be a minimum of £4000

Q: Do you work with dried flowers?

A: Absolutely. In fact, we have an Etsy shop where you can buy individual items that are all made from dried flowers. Equally, we can offer a full service wedding with dried flowers and foliage if that is your vibe. We have some large dried palms and other larger dried elements that are available to hire to create those show stopping installations.

Q: Do you offer/hire anything else other than flowers?

A: We are able to offer you for hire some styling items to go with your flowers including various candle and cylinder packages, large dried floral arrangements, lanterns, various bowls and vases for arrangements, wooden arch, metal signage stands, crates and cake backdrop options.

As we talk through your wedding plan, we will discuss additional items that could be added on for hire that we think will complement your theme. It is your decision whether you would like to add on these items and this will need to be confirmed by the latest of the 8 week appointment. If you are sure that you would like to hire any of our additional items, we suggest securing them at the quotation stage as we support other wedding businesses with our hire items so can’t guarantee availability at the 8 week discussion stage.

Payment for hire items will be requested 8 weeks before the wedding (earlier than payment for the flowers) and an additional security deposit will also be required at that stage. The security deposit starts from £200 and is dependent on the number/value of the items hired.

Q: When should I expect to pay?

A: Once we have sent you over the mood board and quotation, to secure your date you will need to pay a 20% deposit. The quotation is valid for four weeks once sent but the date is not secured until the deposit is received.

Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to your wedding.

Payment to be made by Bank Transfer or card payment in person in Sileby, Leicestershire.

Q: I don’t know what flowers I would like for my wedding…

A: When it comes to flower selection, that is when we are in our element. We have worked on so many weddings and styled shoots with lots of different types of floral varieties so we can guide you about the best blooms for creating the style, atmosphere and vision that you are after.

If you have a favourite flower or family tradition that you would like included then please make sure you mention it. We can use that as a base for the designing process. Otherwise, let’s talk season, colours, texture and emotion and the rest will come together.

Q: How do I know what wedding flowers I need?

A: This is all personal choice. Your wedding, your decisions. We will talk you through some of the traditional floral arrangements that are included in a wedding and then you can decide if they fit your style. No pressure.

Our discussion will include; wedding party flowers, wedding ceremony arrangements, wedding breakfast arrangements, installations and table flowers… and probably lots of other ideas. You can always add things up to 8 weeks before so if you decide that you can’t live without a gypsophila cloud 3 months before your wedding just drop us an email.

Q: Who do I need to provide wedding flowers for?

A: This is totally up to you. We would suggest having a think about the people involved in your wedding. Bridesmaids, flower girls, ushers, parents, grandparents and of course you, the ones who are getting married, there are lots of different options for wedding party flowers which include but are not limited to; bouquets, buttonholes, wrist corsages, pocket flowers, wands, crowns, bag arrangements or hair accessories. We would also suggest asking the people involved in your wedding if they would like flowers and if so how they would like to display them? We usually confirm this detail at the 8 week pre wedding discussion.

Q: What are the different base wedding packages that you offer?

A: Our plans start from 3 different base packages.

Marguerite – Using seasonal fresh and dried flowers and foliage within an agreed colour palette, this package includes a medium bridal bouquet, 5 buttonholes, 5 bridesmaid or flower girl bouquets, 8 low table arrangements, 1 long and low ceremony arrangement and 10 mixed floral and foliage stems for the cake. This package is available from £2465 with an additional hire deposit of £500

Q: I want a show stopping installation for my wedding, can you do this?

A: After your wedding bouquet, our next favourite make is a show stopping installation, so yes please to every opportunity to design and make this for you. We will consider the venue that you are getting married in and discuss the different design options available that will work in that space, but if you have a vision, share it, let’s visit your venue together and let us work out the rest!

Q: When do you deliver the flowers?

A: Depending on the size and scale of your wedding, it may be necessary to come to your venue in the days leading up to your wedding to set up either your ceremony or wedding breakfast areas. You do not need to be there for that.

All wedding party flowers will be delivered on the morning of your wedding to an agreed location at an agreed time. We will always aim to have your flowers with you for when your photographer arrives so that they can take some beautiful pictures whilst you are getting ready. These logistics will be discussed in full at the 8 week pre wedding appointment.

Q: I am looking for some other suppliers to help with my wedding, do you have any recommendations?

A: We have worked on many styled shoots, real weddings and photography workshops with lots of lovely other wedding suppliers which means we have a little black book of suppliers that we would recommend you get in touch with for your wedding. Depending on location, style and budget, we know some fab professionals who we are happy guide you towards.

Q: What happens to the flowers after the wedding?

A: So after your sensational celebration, anything we have made for you is yours to take unless it has been hired. If you have items for hire, our team will be back to pick them up and any flowers that can be put into small bouquets (from the hire pieces) for you to take, will be saved.

If you haven’t hired anything from us we do not come back to the venue so it will be your responsibility to take the flowers and foliage from the venue. It is a great opportunity to gift some of the arrangements to family and friends to enjoy and if you are not heading away on honeymoon straight away you can style your home with beautiful flowers for days – just don’t forget to water them!!
